Helping Hands Chainpur Clinic: New Permanent Building
Helping Hands Chainpur permanent clinic opened in June of 2018. It started very successfully and quickly became well-known. Our clinic became the most advanced around, covering a population of 150,000 people. We are equipped with digital X-ray machines, ultrasounds, ECG machines, laboratories, dental services, pharmacies, and a staff of 14, including medical doctors and dentists. Our dentist is the only one in the area who has been educated at our own school, Surya Secondary Boarding School of Khandbari. She received a dental degree by the help of one of our kind donors from Colorado. In return, Dr. Bidhya Udas provides her services to our Chainpur clinic. Her dedication, along with other doctors, has made the difference in the increase of patients as the clinic grows.
The clinic is now self-sustained and with the combined help of our chairman, Mr. Narayan Shrestha, and vice chairman, Mr. George Newell, we were able to purchase the building. We are very excited to help develop the clinic to provide better services. This being said, we are looking for $35,000 for this project. We appreciate any and all donors who can support us in helping the people of Nepal.
In the future, maybe within 2-3 months, we will also have an eye clinic in the building. We are partnering with a very renowned eye institute in Nepal, and are looking to educate some of our students from Surya Secondary Boarding School as ophthalmologist assistants.
Helping Hands Community Hospital in Kathmandu
In November, Helping Hands Community Hospital Kathmandu, Nepal received a 40 footer container load of medical equipment, supplies, and educational tools. All of this was donated by the kind and generous people of Colorado and other states. The goods were so helpful that one whole floor was upgraded, adding additional beds to the hospital. The president and founder of our organization, Narayan Shrestha, personally visited 3 times alone this year already. He finds that the hospital is doing extremely well, and Mr. Shrestha gave the authority to a new management under the leadership of Dr. Gupta, the hospital’s CEO and newly elected chairman of Helping Hands, Nepal.
